Job Overview
The Welder position is offered by APS Truck & Trailer Repair Ltd. located in Abbotsford. The job pays $37.50 per hour with 35 hours per week. Education and Experience
Applicants must have a secondary (high school) graduation certificate along with 3 to less than 5 years of welding experience. Strong practical experience in welding and metal work is essential to perform the job effectively.
Work Environment
This is an on-site role, so all work must be completed at the company’s physical location. The work environment can be fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring attention to detail and the ability to handle repetitive tasks and lift weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Main Responsibilities
The Welder will interpret welding process specifications and operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment. The role also includes operating flame-cutting equipment, fitting and brazing metal parts, and performing torch straightening when required.
Equipment and Technical Duties
The worker will operate pre-set welding, brazing, and soldering machines to fabricate and repair metal parts and products. Additionally, the Welder will maintain equipment and perform minor repairs to ensure smooth operation of machinery used in the workshop.
Specialization
This role focuses on truck repair, so experience in working with truck and trailer components is highly valuable. The candidate must be comfortable handling repair and fabrication tasks related to heavy vehicles.
